Brooks Woman’s Club

The Brooks Woman's Club was organized as a Georgia Federated Club on March 12, 1921, with twenty founding members. The newly established Club immediately began committee work. The first project, an Easter egg hunt, was soon followed by a "Clean-Up Week" and many other civic projects. The Club continued its contributions to the town by establishing the Brooks public library and registering the largest number of women voters in Fayette County. Throughout the decades, BWC has been steadfast in its dedication to the town. Over the past 103 years, the club has sponsored many charitable events and civic improvements that have benefited both the town of Brooks and Fayette County. Now an independent Woman's Club, the ladies continue the traditions established by the founding members.

BWC currently sponsors an annual Plant Sale in the spring, selling locally grown perennials, and works annually with the Town of Brooks to provide FREE summer concerts featuring local groups and a Christmas in the Country celebration, which includes a visit from Santa. Be sure to sign up for your child's FREE visit with Santa on EventBrite when you see the signs. The Club also sells T-shirts featuring a 1910 vintage Brooks scene.

The BWC is a non-denominational, non-partisan, philanthropic organization dedicated to the enrichment of the community and its membership. Meetings are held the first Thursday of the month September through May. The meeting location is Hardy Hall at 113 Church Alley in downtown Brooks, Georgia. Meetings begin at 6:30 pm with formal club business and conclude with refreshments and fellowship.

Please take the opportunity to join us in working with other women to promote the social, economic, and physical needs of our community while meeting new friends and sharing common interests. In so doing, you will meet and make new friends, expand your knowledge of the needs in your community, and become a more involved and better citizen of Brooks.
